The central figure, draped in rich crimson and gold fabric, symbolizes pleasure, while wilting fruit and shadows suggest decay and change, echoing Caravaggio’s chiaroscuro and the Baroque fascination with life's fleeting beauty. This duality is also reflected in Surah At-Takathur (102:1-2), highlighting humanity's divine perfection and earthly flaws. The mixed-media piece involved drawing the figure with charcoal, layering acrylic paint for texture, using gold leaf for a halo effect, and attaching dried grape leaves with gel medium. A final ink wash enhanced the chiaroscuro, balancing Baroque beauty with raw humanity to tell a tale of fragility and creation. This mixed media composition was created as a part of the AIU Divine Creationscompetition 2025, by Ghaiah Al Ansari from SCAD. The artwork is entitled "Abundance of the earth" and secured 3rd place in mixed media category.Divine Creation Art Competition 2025Ghaiah Al AnsariAbundance of the earthMixed Media3rd Place Winner - Mixed MediaDivine Creation Art Competition 2025 - Abundance of the earth - 3rd Place WinnerImage
