Abuobaid, Shaikha2025-05-152025-05-152025-05-15https://dspacecloud.aiu.edu.kw/handle/123456789/18684Painted by Nicolas Poussin around 1650–1651, Landscape with Calm is a Classical Baroque artwork that depicts a peaceful countryside with a shepherd, animals, a river, and a village, using soft colors and a balanced composition to create a sense of harmony; unlike the dramatic Baroque style, Poussin focused on order rather than emotion, symbolizing the calm of nature and the passage of time, and his structured approach influenced Neoclassical art and painters like J.M.W. Turner, making his landscapes admired to this day. First, I searched for the picture I wanted. Then, I sketched it on paper to get the outline right. After that, I printed the picture and traced it carefully. Once the tracing was done, I colored it using acrylic colors to bring it to life. In the middle, I wrote the verse to complete the design. Finally, my artwork was finished.This painting was created as part of the AIU Divine Creation competition 2025, by Shaikha H M A Abu Obaid, who is majoring in Interior Design. The artwork is entitled "The Wonders of Creation".
