Abstract

This painting was created as part of the AIU Divine Creation competition 2025, by Hoor T S S Alharbi, who is majoring in Graphic Design. The artwork, entitled "The Tomb," is made on an A3-size canvas with acrylic paint, colored pencil, and marker.

Description

Nicolas Poussin was a was a leading figure in the classical French Baroque style. Most of his works were on religious themes. My A3 artwork is inspired by Nicolas Poussin's Et in Arcadia Ego painting because it explores the idea of mortality. The Baroque period was influenced by life, death, and natural existence. For the artwork, acrylic paint was used as a base, then layered with colored pencil on top to blend between tones. the central focus is the tomb surrounded by grass, which is painted in acrylic. The Bible verse was written in silver paint marker in butler font.
