Abstract
This mixed media composition was created as a part of the AIU Divine Creation competition 2025, by Sbiekah Albaloul from SCAD. The artwork is entitled "Celestial Blueprint" and secured the 2nd place in mixed media category.
Description
My artwork embodies the theme of Divine Creation by integrating celestial, mathematical, and natural elements to illustrate the harmony and intentionality of the universe. At its core is a sparkling star, symbolizing the start of existence, inspired by the Quranic verse (Al Omran 3:190). The gold spiral vine, shaped like the golden ratio, reinforces the idea of precision and beauty in creation. The hand, inspired by The Creation of Adam, represents humanity's connection to the divine and the quest for knowledge. Dragonflies symbolize life's fragility and transformation. The chosen colors (dark blues, purples, and various hues of gold) reflect mystery and divinity, with high contrast inspired by the Baroque technique "chiaroscuro" to emphasize divine illumination. The gold vine, inspired by Islamic arabesque designs, represents perfection and infinite balance. Through these elements, I aim to highlight the intersection of art, nature, science, and faith, showcasing the universe as a masterpiece of divine design.
